37 weeks-Full Term!

We made it!  Baby came come anytime after Friday :)  Andy is in Chicago Wednesday-Friday so anytime after that.  Everything is done (or so I think) and I am struggling with the waiting game.  Could be a long 3 weeks...

Not much new to report.  No changes from last weeks doctor appointment.  My belly button is still pretty flat!  No outie for me quite yet :)  I'm falling asleep fine but wake up in the middle of the night and have a hard time turning my mind off which has been frustrating.  Andy hasn't been thrilled about this recent development...

We had a fun weekend.  Andy got a good ski tour up to Patsy Marley peak, above Alta on Sunday during a snowstorm.  Lots of good snow.  It's been snowing hard since Sunday morning, so I'm excited to get out again this weekend.  Hockey season is in fully swing.  We've had a free trial of NHL Center Ice, so we've seen all of the Wild games.  We might have to cough up 50 bones and buy it once the trial is over.  Additionally, team Sole Tattoo hockey made it into the playoffs, and have a bye in the first round thanks to our destruction of the Steel Panther 7-2 on Sunday.

The back fabric for the penguin quilt gets delivered on Wednesday so hopefully that will help me stay busy this weekend.  I'm also going to stock up on groceries, and make some of the staples so that we will have food ready to go.  We're hosting a Superbowl party on Sunday so looking forward to good food and friends.  Andy bought himself a pre-baby present of a new t.v. so we're excited to use that for the Superbowl as well as for watching all the Wild games.

No pics on the bathroom remodel yet...we got the light working but now we have to order a special corner shower curtain rod :(  It's never as easy as it's supposed to be!!

My next appointment isn't until Wednesday the 6th so I'll hold off on the blog post hoping there is new news to report :)

Thanks for checking in!
Love,
Andy and Lexi

36 weeks and impromptu bathroom remodel

We had our big 36 week appointment today!  At this point the Dr says that if labor starts we won't try to stop it.  Andy is in Chicago next week so we just need to wait until he gets home.  We're hosting a Super Bowl party so I wouldn't be surprised if Mayhem tries to complicate that.
The appointment went well.  I've gained a total of 26 lbs to date which is right where I wanted to be.  Without going into too much detail the doctor says things are happening biologically speaking and Mayhem is positioned head down!  I was skeptical but what do I know?  She says unfortunately all this doesn't give us a time frame for going into labor but it's got to be a good sign!  She said probably at least 3 more weeks.  Still sleeping ok but having trouble turning off my brain.  I've also started the waddle :(  So sad.  I said in the beginning that I wasn't going to do the waddle!  So hard!  My hips must be shifting which makes my lower back hurt when I walk, hence the waddle.  Only 3-4 weeks left right?!
The top of the penguin quilt is done!  Really happy with how it turned out.  Now I just need to find fabric for the back so I can get it all put together!
Thanks to Pinterest I displayed all your lovely x-mas cards in a new way rather than on the fridge.  We still have room for more!

We replaced our thermostat a couple weeks ago which left us with a nice bare spot on the wall.  Of course we didn't have any leftover paint from when we moved in and when we went to get enough to touch up the wall all we could get was a gallon...and since Andy and I don't know how to relax we felt compelled to use the paint which then of course led to a full bathroom remodel.
This is our never used basement bathroom.  Gotta love the gold.  Andy ripped out the glass doors on the shower, I painted and then we tried to replace the light.  As we've found out numerous times before, the construction of our house sucks...the previous owners son was a horrible electrician and none of the wiring makes sense.  So the remodel is still in progress because 2 masters degrees are not enough to figure out how to get the light to work...hopefully we'll have completed pictures next week!

Getting even more excited and counting down the days until Baby May's arrival!  Now that he's in position I really need to wrap my head around the deliver process.  I secretly had my heart set on a C-section :)

Till next week!

Andy and Lexi

35 weeks and some snow!

This week brought some 40 degree weather, a big snow storm and then temps below zero!  We aren't supposed to have that here in UT!!  Brr...

As of this post we have 33 days left before baby's due date!  We are ready!  Nursery is done, all supplies are bought, closet is full of clothes and besides the penguin quilt I think I've made about as many crafty things as I can. Up next, packing the go bag :)
It seems like I'm bigger every morning!  Mayhem is getting really strong and is moving around like crazy.  Kind of painful!  He really enjoys poking a foot out near my left hip.  It's still weird to see my stomach move.  I've got my 35 week appointment tomorrow and then we'll be going weekly.  Other than that, not much to report.  Still feeling about the same.  Had a couple nights of insomnia from about 3:30-5:30 but thankful that has passed and I'm sleeping fine again.  Just ready to be done and counting down the days!

I (Andy behind the wheel now) was in Chicago this past week for a training program.  Oddly enough, it was colder in SLC than Chicago.  Snowstorm Gandolf moved through town Thursday and Friday, making my landing and commute home a little dicey.  The benches got almost 2 feet, while the mountains only got about a foot.  But the snow was great and I got a good backcountry tour in on Saturday.  Lots of fresh powder!  To top it off, we had some friends over for a spaghetti feast and some adult beverages.  Team Sole Tattoo won another game, moving into sole ownership of third place in our league.  Pretty solid weekend.  Just trying to enjoy our final bits of life without baby!

Till next week!

Lexi and Andy

34 weeks!

Welcome to 2013!

So excited for the new year and all the changes it will bring.  I don't know if it's being back to work or what but all of a sudden time is going so slow!  5.5 weeks sounds like so much time!  39 days sounds much better to me :)
We are REALLY struggling with a name...SO hard.
On New Year's Eve we had our friends Sara and Zane over for a surf and turf feast.  We cooked shrimp scampi, snow crab clusters and steak.  Just a little excessive :)  We then headed over to Jarrett and Brittany's house to ring in the new year.  Such a fun night! Can't remember the last time us oldies were up till 2:30am!

I had my appointment on Thursday and everything is still looking good.  Another appointment next week and then we'll be going to weekly appointments.  The 2 week appts are hard with work so I'm sure my coworkers are going to love me when I start going weekly.  Not a whole lot new to report yet.  Still feeling good!  Some days are harder than others but overall I feel great.  No Braxton-Hicks contractions and still sleeping great.

I did have a productive weekend crafting.  I got a really great start on the penguin quilt (about time right?) and made a cute little baby hat.
All the pieces are cut, just sewing together now!
Hope it fits but I'd be fine if it was a little loose on him :)
If anyone has any patience to send me for the next 39 days I would love it!
Till next week.
Love,
Lexi and Andy
