4 months (16 weeks)

4 months old!

Looking pretty awesome in my sweet thermal :)

Getting so tall!
Fun stuff in the past 2 weeks...
-Everett started falling asleep and waking up by talking to himself.  So cute and fun to listen too.  Much better than crying :)
-Left and right hands are both constantly in his mouth, I thought he was going to be a lefty, but he might be favoring the right one.
Yum!
Hi!
Memorial Day Weekend and we stayed home.  Womp, Womp.  First holiday in my recent memory that we haven't had a trip scheduled or big plans.  We are trying to not be so busy and just enjoy being at home with Everett.  So of course we ended up tearing up the backyard and going to 3 Saturday BBQ's...  The previous home owners likely had some sort of RV pad that fell into disuse and we had been pretty apathetic towards fixing it.  But the time had come to do something about it.  So we rented a tiller from the Depot and went to work.  We mixed in some fresh soil, rerouted a sprinkler and planted some grass.  Hopefully it grows!
Our sprinkler never worked so we dug them up, put in new ones and planted grass
Watching mom and dad do manual labor was so exhilarating that he had to hold on for dear life :)
After all our hard work we had fabulous dinner on the deck
15 weeks and looking like a little man!
"Look at me, I got them all in!"
16 weeks and he finally fits into newborn size jeans
Dad's sous chef
Everett got his first lesson in grilling on Wednesday night.  He liked it when the chicken sizzled.

I've got my first triathlon coming up on Saturday in Cottonwood Heights.  I finally bit the bullet and bought a road bike, so I might as well test it out.  I can handle the biking and running, but the swimming makes me a little nervous.  I could run a quarter mile in a minute, but swimming that far won't be so easy.  If I can get through that part I should be fine.  Looking forward to it though.

3.5 months and loving life

3.5 months old and Everett is getting to be lots of fun and such a big boy!
I started work again on Wednesday, May 8th and Everett went to his first day of daycare.  We all survived :)  It was definitely hard driving out of the driveway but everyone did great!  Andy does the hard part and does drop off in the morning and I pick him up in the evening.  We absolutely love our daycare lady and she is smitten with Everett.  We were given her name by a friend in the neighborhood and are so thankful.  She does in home daycare and lives within walking distance.  It really makes it so much easier to leave him knowing he is in loving hands. I am also very lucky to have a cush schedule at work.  I usually work 10 hour days Tuesday-Friday and for the first 6 weeks I'm only working Wednesday-Friday for 10 hours a day.  Can't complain about that.  I'm loving having those 2 days at home with Everett especially now that he's awake most of the day and loves to smile, giggle and "chat."

"Mama makes weird faces at me..."
Big news of the week....Everett sleeps through the night!!!
E's first day of daycare tired him out and he slept 9 hours that night!  And it wasn't a fluke!  He seamlessly transitioned to a great sleep schedule just in time for me to head back to work.  My first week back he would sleep a minimum of 6 hours which is amazing.  We're still working on the morning routine but we're getting more efficient every day.  So far Andy does his nighttime routine.  We started doing the bath, bottle and bed routine and it's worked like a charm so far.  Then I get him fed and ready to go in the morning since I leave earlier.
13 weeks old and enjoying the 90 degree weather!
Oh ya...stylin in my muscle tee and shades on our walk :)
New stuff for week 14...
-We are routinely up to 7-8 hours of sleep every night :)
-He loves watching the other kids at daycare and probably only naps for about 2 hours during the day
-He is all smiles.  It's one of the BEST feelings in the world to come home to a huge smile when he sees Mom and Dad
-Everett is now grabbing toys-still pretty rare but he's getting better and better
-He can put his hands together and holds them up in front of his face to play with them
-Andy is convinced he's going to be a lefty.  Up until this week he would only put his left fist in his mouth.  This week his right hand is starting to make the long journey to his mouth.  So funny to watch him concentrate so hard and making the hand to mouth connection
-Giggles.  LOVE the giggles.  You can't help but laugh too.  The world could be ending and those giggles could make anyone smile.
-Everett's definitely found his voice.  He is starting to "talk" more and more.  So fun.  We heard goo's and gah's quite a few weeks ago, but now he's up to ah's, ee's and oohs.  This morning I put him in his crib wide awake and he just "chatted" with the animals in his crib for about 5 minutes and then fell asleep.
-The fam took a walk tonight and Everett got to ride in the Bjorn facing out for the first time!  He loved being able to check out the world.
Getting soooo much better on his tummy.  Still doesn't last long but good to see him with his head up so high
One of the daily pictures from daycare :)
Borrowed a bumbo from a friend and Everett loves it!
Back to the winter clothes...50's and rainy this weekend and today
2nd pair of socks ever worn.  We didn't even make it out of his room before one came off...
Everett doesn't stay swaddled long anymore and his hands always end up behind his head.  So cute :)
Upgraded to size 3 month jammies.  Still doesn't fit into newborn jeans though...not sure how that works.
Sending dad Monday morning smiles

3 months old!

We've been very busy and we've changed soooo much in the past 2 weeks!

Saturday April 20th we went to Alyssa's birthday party.  She wanted to do a prom themed party so we all got dressed up.  Everett even got dressed up and wore his tie onesie that I made for him. A little hard to tell but he's still pretty cute!
Handsome fella :)
Family!
We put baby in the corner at the prom party to sleep...
Andy's 30th birthday was on Sunday, April 21st.  We had a low key, very relaxing day.  Andy really wanted to make braised short ribs.  They are soooo good!  I also made him his favorite double chocolate cheesecake.  We had great weather and spent some time on the deck enjoying the sun.
Looks like someone else is a reptile like his mom
Everett and I put a hitch on the Rav for Andy's birthday gift.  We'd been talking about getting one forever...so I did it!  So E and I had a bit of an adventure at Rack n Road.  It took 2 hours for the hitch to get put on and since it was for Andy's birthday I couldn't really ask him to drive me etc. So Everett got put in the bjorn and we walked 1/2 mile in 50 degree weather and strong wind to the closest mall.  We got coffee, hung out and then walked back.  He was soooo great.  He slept the whole time.

This week in the world of Everett...
-He's eating 6 ounces in like 10 minutes.  He eats like Cali.  I'm fairly certain he wouldn't stop eating if I just let him go.
-He has a very specific, funny cry right before he gets his bottle.
-Everett now has to sleep the long way in his crib because he doesn't fit the short way!
-Sleeping is getting better!  On April 22nd we had 2 stretches of 4 hours and then on the 23rd we had a 6 hour stretch and then a 4 hour stretch!  Amazing how 6 hours of uninterrupted can change your life :)

The White's came over on Tuesday night to babysit and Andy and I went out to dinner for a date night.  We went to Tiburon and it was amazing as usual.  We went there while I was pregnant and it was nice to enjoy a glass of vino this time around :)

On Wednesday April 24th Everett and I went to the zoo with a friend and her 1.5 yr old.  Probably a little early for Everett to enjoy the zoo but it was still fun!
Elephants!
Wednesday night Andy and I went mountain biking!  I did my quick loop while Andy fed Everett and then we switched and I put him to sleep.  Love that Everett likes to be outside and cooperates so Andy and I can get out and enjoy the weather.

Thursday April 25th
Everett is 11 weeks old!
We got big!  But I say that every week...
Friday Everett and I took an early morning flight back to Minnesota!  It was an early morning with a lot of nerves but we did great!  I checked his car seat at the ticket counter and he hung out in his bjorn the whole time through security and the flight.  He cried for just a couple minutes on the plane while i got his bottle ready but then he ate and made smiley faces at the people in my row to butter them up :)  I spent 4 days with my family in St. Peter and then 4 days in Rosemount with Andy's parents.  I'm so glad I could come back and everyone got to spend as much time as they did with Everett!  It was a lot of work being away from the comforts of home but it was totally worth it.

One of the cutest pics EVER!
Everett turned 3 months (crazy!) on Thursday, May 2nd.  We flew back to UT on Friday and I belatedly took the above photo over the weekend.  Don't even ask how long it took for all parties to cooperate...Cali looks like she's ok with this situation but she is NOT!  She is still not ok with him coming near her.  She has to be close by or in the same room but we have not moved on to touching yet.

Seriously have no idea how Everett is 3 months old already.  I actually started work today and Everett went to his first day of daycare and I can only imagine that time will go by even quicker now.  More to come later about my return to work and E's first day of daycare.

Thanks for checking in!  Hope you enjoyed the barrage of photos.

Love,
Lexi, Andy, Everett and Cali
