Somehow it's already December and I went another 3 months without posting...
When we left off it was the end of September and I had just announced Baby #2.
The first weekend of October Andy and I drove to Fruita (outside Grand Junction, CO) for an adults only mountain biking weekend. Auntie Gabs stayed home with E. The trails were nothing crazy and we were really excited. I however decided to ruin the trip and fall off my bike, over the handlebars towards the end of the first trail. Falls happen, but I couldn't move my right arm after this one...it didn't hurt THAT bad and it was the beginning of the weekend so i took my tylenol and managed to "sleep" in a tent that night. I also decided it was a great idea to drive the 4 hours home, take a shower and then go to the ER...
I was told I broke my elbow in the ER. Baby was fine thank goodness and the fall "cured" the major back pain I was having. I had a follow up about 4 days later where they determined it was just a really bad elbow sprain, I wouldn't need a cast and would be back to normal in about 6 weeks. Phew!
We then went back to MN over Columbus Day weekend to help pull out the docks. Our flight got delayed so it made for a long night but we made it and had so much fun hanging out with family and getting to see Everett play with and meet some of his cousins for the first time. We also were able to see my side of the family for a couple days and took Everett to Como Zoo which he loved again!

We went pumpkin picking at a farm just down the road with the Yehl's. Everett just wanted to sit on the pumpkins...

Auntie Greta and Uncle Nate from MN came out to visit the following weekend for a quick visit. We pretty much hung out at home and toured the Celestial Seasonings tea factory in Boulder which was actually really cool!

We carved pumpkins and I had my 19 week ultrasound the day before Halloween.

| No luck with Halloween this year...He did NOT want to be a lion apparently... |
The first week of November I reached the halfway point of this pregnancy and Andy traveled to Hawaii for work. Tough life for that guy...
He took the red eye home Thursday night, layed over in SLC and was home by 9am on Friday. We then left that afternoon to drive back to SLC for a short weekend visit. Ouch. We drove through unexpected white out conditions in Wyoming, got in around 1am and then left at noon on Sunday. So crazy whirlwind trip with absolutely not sleep for Andy but it was a great trip. We stayed with the Whites and got to spend some quality time with Quinn.

We were able to stop in an see Everett's old daycare mom and family and also got to meet Kaylor Hallock for the first time. Kaylor was born June 6th and I'm so glad we were finally able to meet that little guy. We also got to see the Capsticks again as well. With 3 out of 4 couples pregnant I'm surprised we stayed up as late as we did! Lots of babies happening in our group :)

I went back in for a follow up ultrasound to double check some things from our 20 week visit. Baby #2 has slightly enlarged kidneys which usually indicates a blockage or reflux between the bladder and kidneys. Apparently it's quite common in fetal boys and usually resolves on it's own. Anything over 4 mm is considered abnormal and his were 4.1 and 4.3, so VERY slight. We'll have another ultrasound at 32 weeks to measure again. If they are still enlarged nothing happens and we wait until he's a couple weeks old to do an ultrasound on him to determine whats causing the blockage and go from there. Other than that everything looks good and he's growing right on schedule. And still definitely a boy. He was quite proud of that fact at the followup.
Kathy flew out November 14-16 for a weekend visit. Always love even the short time Everett can spend time with his Grandma.

My little brother Wyatt was on break from Iowa State so he came out for the week of Thanksgiving. Gabrielle took a couple days off of work and the two of them were able to spend 2 whole days doing fun stuff with E. They took him to the Children's Museum where he was OBSESSED with the electric train and also to the community pool which has 2 great water slides that he loves.

We hosted Thanksgiving again this year which we love. We were so thankful to have so many family members join us this year but were also missed our "family" of friends we usually hosted in SLC. Tom, Emmy and Emmy's dad, Gabrielle and Wyatt rounded out our Thanksgiving group. We had WAY too much food.

Everett got sick the first week of December. Weird cold. Started off with a bad cough, then runny nose and then 4 days of 101 fever :( Then he passed it on. Andy hopefully is finally feeling better any day now. Andy and I continue to trade off travel weeks. I was in Grand Junction the first couple weeks of December and now Andy is in San Fran for training.

December 7th marks Everett turning 22 months! Crazy. We have our tough days but for the most part he continues to amaze us every single day. His personality shines through a little more every day and on a daily basis Andy and I marvel at how much we can love this little boy. He's still taking his sweet time with words but we manage to figure out what he wants. He only says the first syllable of words. So ball is ba, bus is bu. He still says ma for more and can say Zeus but can't say juice...hot is ha, help is he. He's pretty much potty training himself though. He still doesn't actively tell us he needs to go but he's started to bring us into the bathroom. So now he goes a couple times throughout the day, every night before bed and now in the morning. And he also will poop on the potty which I hear is tough to accomplish. We aren't actively trying to train him, haven't bought any underwear but just giving him the option when we are home. He's obsessed with movies (specifically Cars) and we've had a tough go at breaking him of that habit from when he was home sick.
 |
| One of Andy's co-workers knit E and Baby 2 bear hats without knowing Everett's love of bears. He'd wear this all day everyday if he could. |
 |
| He adores his dog. He scooted himself in there all by himself. No direction by mom or dad. Cali hates this poor girl |
 |
| Melts my heart this one. His little brother has big shoes to fill! |
 |
| Speaking of shoes...he loves dads shoes and stepped into these all by himself. He's trying SO hard to say cheese in this pic :) |
 |
| Didn't want to stand up for the picture |
We went up to the mountains this past weekend with the Yehl's. Still not a ton of snow but Andy and Matt got out for a couple ski runs at Keystone.

| Has to be just like dad :) |

| Love these 2. So excited to add another little boy to the mix! |
It's the week before Christmas 2014. I'll be 26 weeks along tomorrow and my mom flies in this weekend to say through the New Year. Just like with Everett the holidays are making the weeks fly by and 3 months til baby sounds like a lot and hardly any all at the same time. Put in those terms and my track record lately with blog posts, the next one could be a baby announcement. Ahh!! Wishing everyone a safe, happy and healthy holiday season surrounded with family and friends.
Thanks for checking in!
Love,
Lexi, Andy, Everett, Cali and Baby #2
