5.5 months and our first road trip!

Can't believe we are already half way through July!

We celebrated the 4th of July holiday by travelling to Colorado on our first road trip with Everett.  The first half of the trip was great, the 2nd half was a bit of a struggle.  We started our drive after work and took a new route as we were heading to Frisco (near Breckenridge Ski Resort) to spend the weekend at the Warren condo.  Everett did great!  We had a bit of a longer than normal stop which we planned on and then he slept the entire way!  7.5 hours.  We arrived at midnight, chatted for an hour and he went right back to sleep.
Having dinner in the back of the RAV
Someone decided to sit up on his own :)
If I said our first trip was perfect I'd be lying :)  We had a great time and are SO glad we went but it is HARD being away from home.  A 5 month old baby is exhausting.  You all know that Andy and I have a hard time sitting still.  Everett is soooo close to getting up to speed but right now he definitely lets us know when we were trying to do too much.  Our first day we went biking around the lake for the first time with Everett.  He's still too small for the backpack so he was uncomfortable and it was really windy so he did not enjoy the ride as much as we did.  We ended up doing 8 miles on the bike path around Lake Dillon.  We grilled out and then had the best seats around for the fabulous fireworks show.  They fired the fireworks from across the Lake at the Marina, so we had a great view.
Happy 4th of July!  21 weeks old.
Friday Cassie watched Everett so Andy, Matt and I could go for a mountain bike ride.  We decided to take the vacation route and ride the ski lift up and then bike down.  Super fun!  We did get rained on a little but still had a great time.
Riding the lift.  I will never ever look good in a bike helmet...
The weather was glorious!!!  High's of 75 and low's in the 50's.  Felt so amazing after leaving the 102 temps in SLC.
Everett got the first rinse in the new shower
We went on a beautiful hike on Friday afternoon
Gorgeous wildflowers
Everett slept and napped great while we were in CO.

No video just sound.  Love his little voice in the morning :)

My good little burrito napper
Someone loves his baby :)
Unfortunately that is where the happiness ends...
Everett gave us the stomach flu from daycare :( :( :(  Andy got it Friday night and I got it Saturday night.  Absolutely horrible...Andy battled through during the day on Saturday so we could take a little hike and have dinner in Breckenridge.  Everett refused to eat which he's never ever done before and I ended up laying in the back of the car on the drive home trying to recover and tend to Everett who wasn't very happy about being in his car seat.  Everyone was very happy to be home.  Now that it's been a week we are getting excited to head back to MN for our annual trip!  Andy and Cali are driving and Everett and I are flying.  Really excited to see our families and friends!

Week 22
New stuff this week...
-Everett is growing lots of super blonde hair.  He has a couple really long stragglers so I call him a little Who from Whoville
-Loves playing with his feet.
-Almost rolls over from his back to his front.
-He holds onto toys now instead of grabbing and dropping them
-We started doing one rice cereal feeding a day on Monday.  He does great and makes me laugh every time he opens his mouth.
-Moving onto a yet to be determined vegetable this weekend!
-Still working on sitting alone
-Still no interest in being on his tummy or any thoughts about crawling
-He's gonna have to start being mobile soon.  He can see his toys and wants to go there and then gets pissed  because he can't get there :)
Constantly hanging onto his feet now

Look at that little smirk...
We decided to start with PEAS! Yum :)
Andy used his gopro for the first time and got some good footage from his ride on Friday after work.  Check it out! https://vimeo.com/70289351

Everett and I fly back to MN on Friday and Andy/Cali start driving as well on Friday.  Cross your fingers for an uneventful flight and drive.  Hope to see as many of you as possible very soon!

Thanks for checking in!
Love,
Lexi, Andy, Everett and Cali
