Baby May's heart rate was 148 at our 16 week appointment. For all the gender speculators out there the heart rate was 172 at 8 weeks and 150ish at 12 weeks. The big ultrasound is scheduled for September 28th. Still not a lot happening in the bump region to which my doctor says I can thank my good ab muscles. I'm also feeling pretty un-pregnant thanks to no hormonal mood swings or food cravings. Feeling pretty normal. I do however have a list of things I miss...Jimmy Johns, beer, Asti, wine (I'm sensing a trend here), coffee, and sandwiches with deli meat and Jimmy Johns. Did I mention I miss Jimmy Johns?
Since I've been feeling really good and we had a long weekend coming up we decided to do a little baby proofing. We recently had a BBQ with a coworker of Andy's who has twin 19 month old girls. We had tacos, rice and beans. After watching one of the twins pick up her plate and dump it in her lap and subsequently the floor Andy and I immediately looked at each other and said "the carpet in the dining room needs to go." So we decided to rip up the carpet and tile 150 square feet of dining room.

We pulled up the carpet and laid down the cement board Friday night after Andy got home from work. We then tiled on Saturday from 9am-1:30am...needless to say tile is now a four letter word. I am beyond sore pretty much everywhere. I would have been sore anyways but after 3 months of inactivity I am hurtin. All day Sunday was spent grouting and then Monday we did the finishing touches like putting the stubborn baseboards back on and deep cleaning the house since there was a film on everything. 150 square feet is A LOT when putting down 13x13 inch tiles. This was our third tiling project so Andy and I have neared professional status. I do the measuring and lay most of the tile and Andy does all the cutting. We are getting good. A lot of hard work but it turned out great! And now Mayhem won't destroy our carpet :)
We're both looking forward to the short work week! Hope everyone had a great Labor day weekend!
Love,
Lexi and Andy
