Hike to Lake Blanche

Welcome to Mayhem in the Making!

Turns out naming a blog is one of the more difficult tasks a person can take on.  I think the process of picking out a name lasted 5 days and approximately 45 text messages between Lexi and I.  Mayhem is a nick-name I was given by my co-workers while I was with Stockamp and Associates working in Memphis, Tennessee and it stuck.

This blog is probably overdue, but we've finally put one together to keep family and friends up to date on our lives here in Utah.  Facebook is great, but a blog is just a little more personal.

Today we hiked one of the "must do" trails in SLC.  We started at 8am and hiked about 6.5 miles round trip with about 3000 feet of elevation gain to get to Lake Blanche, in the shadow of SunDial Peak.

Lake Blanche and Sun Dial Peak
It was a pretty steap and intense trek, but it was nice and cool in the mountains and the view wasn't too shabby :)
Another view of Lake Blanche
Pretty massive waterfall on our way up to the lake
Had a great day beating the heat, enjoying the mountains and getting in a good workout!

Much more to come in the next few weeks as we are getting excited for a road trip back to Minnesota and Wisconsin to see family, friends, a visit the cabin and to try out the new boat!

Love,
Lexi and Andy
