14.5 months and a very big announcement (no it's not a baby...)

So I'm a little behind on this months blog post.  We've been quite busy and wanted to make sure all our ducks were in a row before we made the announcement...
Andy officially accepted a job with Kaiser Permanente on Monday and we are moving to Denver in 2 weeks!!!!  Things moved very quickly but we are really excited and really nervous!  We are going to try selling our house on our own for a couple weeks.  We've started to get some calls and had our first walk through last night so we're hopeful we can pull this off.  We're driving to Denver tomorrow to find an apartment to rent for 3 months.  Our plan is to rent while we get a feel for the area and look for a house to buy.  I'm taking a huge leap of faith and a small hit to my pride and have given notice at work without having a new job.  I do have a promising interview with the Colorado Crime Lab but their interview process is grueling and very involved so I'm still very nervous about the prospect of possibly being unemployed.  My last day is May 1st, Andy's is May 2nd and we will be moving May 3rd! Andy's first day and the start of my week long interview are both on May 12th so we'll have a week to get semi settled.  We have had almost 5 amazing years here in Utah and although we are sad to leave all of our friends we are so excited about starting our new life in Colorado.  Truth be told we have really struggled being so far away from family since Everett came along and are really looking forward to being more accessible.  The drive is actually do-able in a day and flights are shorter and way cheaper.  We are so excited but we have so much to do in the next 2 weeks and it all makes me want to throw up :( So send all your happy thoughts our way that we find a great buyer for our house, find another amazing daycare for Mr. Everett and that I have success with my interview!!  We can't wait to see more of all of you very soon!!
Now onto the main event as usual...
Not even close to a baby anymore
I'm sure everyone feels this way about their kids but Everett is one amazing little boy.  He is so smart, such a little ham, loves being outside, is cutting teeth like it's his job and is a walking maniac.  He now has 4 molars through, poor guy and now walks more than he crawls.

Our Monday photo
I flew back to MN alone on March 28th.  Everett was cutting 2 molars and had his first fever.  Needless to say it was a very rough trip but it was great seeing Everett with all his aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins!

This little blonde boy's first strawberry.  More smashing than eating...
Just in the last week he has been walking like crazy!
- He can stand up without holding onto anything
- Will now cross thresholds(before he would stop and crawl through a doorway or from the carpet to tile), -- Practically running
-Can now get on and off his little ride-on car
-Has mastered the stairs
-Has amazing depth perception and is very in tune to edges of the couch, bed, stairs etc.  He uses his "exploratory foot" to find the edge, turns around onto his tummy and slides down.
-Finally has given up being stubborn and has started to sign for more when he's eating.
-Loves his sippy of milk
-Loving his new bike trailer/stroller.  We've done quite a few hour rides and gotten in about 8 miles at a time.  -Has major "stranger danger" which was a real struggle on our trip home.  Hoping to change that really soon. ;)
-After got through his teeth hurting he started taking a 2+ hour nap in the morning, from about 10-noon.  So now he pretty much just gets his morning nap and that is it!  Kind of nice just getting it out of the way and then having the rest of the afternoon to go out and do stuff.  He's even slept in a couple times until 8 am which has been great!
-Still pretty regularly sleeping from 7pm-7am.

Thanks for checking in!!  Hope to have some more good news on the next blog post!

Love,
Lexi, Andy, Everett and Cali
